GENEALOGIST, RESEARCHER, ENTREPRENEUR
Uncovering stories, restoring roots, and helping families connect with their past—one record at a time.
Curiosity has always been my compass. Long before I knew the word genealogy, I was drawn to the stories behind names, the silences in family trees, and the mysteries waiting in old records. With broken branches and missing roots in my own story, I found purpose in piecing things together—researching not just names and dates, but the lives lived between them.
I'm Brigette—entrepreneur, lifelong researcher, and founder of Genetic Roots Research. After more than fifteen years of building and leading businesses, I turned my problem-solving mindset and passion for discovery toward professional genealogy. Today, I specialize in forensic genealogy and heir identification, helping families rediscover their origins through layered historical context, thoughtful storytelling, and conclusions backed by DNA evidence.
As a proud Arkansan, my research interests are rooted in the American South, with a focus on Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and the broader Deep South. I'm equally passionate about Eastern European research and expanding into Irish, Mid-Atlantic, and South American genealogy.
Ongoing education continues to shape my work, and I remain committed to growing both my skills and the quality of service I provide. As part of that commitment, I’m currently pursuing certification through the Board for Certification of Genealogists (BCG) and accreditation through ICAPGen.
I'm also a proud member of the National Genealogical Society, Arkansas Genealogical Society, Oklahoma Genealogical Society, and Texas State Genealogical Society, where I stay engaged in regional research and connect with fellow professionals and enthusiasts.
Outside of client work, I write and speak about genealogy, sharing insights from my own family history on my blog. I also create and manage private Facebook groups for DNA-confirmed relatives—digital gathering places where newly connected family members can ask questions, share stories, and build relationships across generations. These spaces transform research into community, turning data and documents into living, evolving family narratives.
Whether leading a company, solving a family mystery, or tracing immigrant stories through layers of time, I approach every project with curiosity, care, and commitment. I believe everyone deserves to know where they come from—and I’m honored to help them find their way there.
